A huge brawl kicked off in London on Saturday night as crowd favourite Sam McNess lost his bout via fifth round stoppage at Copper Box Arena.
Previously undefeated McNess went down to a first career defeat to Asinia Byfield for the Southern Area championship after his corner threw in the towel.
Seconds later, a mass fight began in the crowd at the Frank Warren arranged show and threatened to ruin the whole evening at one point.
Security struggled to control the melee, which almost spilled into the ringside area where promoters, celebrities and media sat.
It’s another black eye for the sport, which is used to small scuffles in the crowd on a regular basis but nothing on this scale.
