Co-featuring on the Sky Sports Box Office bill is former three-time world super-middleweight title contender ‘Saint’ George Groves as the Londoner takes on hardened Russian Fedor Chudinov for the vacant WBA ‘super’ title at 168 pounds.
Groves last fought in a tragic contest resulting in German opponent Eduard Gutknecht suffering life-threatening and debilitating injuries which are said to have had a mental effect on the 29 year-old in the months after the encounter.
Two vacant Commonwealth title matches make up the four championships on the line as Dave Allen faces Lenroy Thomas for Anthony Joshua’s old heavyweight strap and Jon Kays battles Andy Townend for the super-featherweight version.
Add to that three amateur standouts in Anthony Fowler, Joe Cordina and Lawrence Okolie, plus a tasty super-middleweight offering for a fringe world title belt involving newly-signed Eddie Hearn contender Jamie Cox and Dave Coldwell-managed Lewis Taylor.
Super-flyweight Kyle Yousaf, super lightweight Atif Shafiq and middleweight Nadeem Siddique make up the eleven-fight card in separate encounters of their own.
