At this week’s monthly British Boxing Board of Control meeting, the following contests were either confirmed or placed into a purse bid situation.
In the heavyweight division, Sam Sexton faces Gary Cornish for the vacant British heavyweight title on May 20 in Motherwell, whilst Rocky Fielding looks set to defend his super-middleweight belt against new Matchroom stablemate Jamie Cox.
A purse bid for that bout has been set for June 14.
At super-lightweight, Ohara Davies has been put forward for a possible final eliminator to face Tyrone Nurse after the BBBofC positioned the WBC fringe title holder to battle Joe Hughes.
With major belts on the horizon, it’s unclear whether Davies has the Lonsdale Belt at the forefront of his plans.
Martin J. Ward is pencilled in to face Anthony Cacace in London on June 10 at super-featherweight.
Featherweight champion Ryan Walsh is set to defend his belt against Marco McCullough on May 20, whilst Jazza Dickens had already been slated to fight Thomas Ward this weekend in Leeds.
At the bantamweight limit, the vacant championship will be contested by Josh Wale and Jamie Wilson on July 1 in Doncaster.
Charlie Edwards and flyweight belt holder Andrew Selby both have no immediate defences lined up and have other irons in the fire.
