Chavez family draw first blood as Omar KO’s Ramon Alvarez in two
Will this be an omen of the following week when Julio Cesar Chavez faces Canelo Alvarez?
In front of eleven thousand people in Mexico, Omar ‘Businessman’ Chávez dramatically knocked out Ramon Alvarez in a stellar fight on the Box Azteca broadcast in a big promotion of Zanfer.
Chávez (36-3-1, 24 ko’s) cautiously started the first round by receiving gunfire from an aggressive ‘Inocente’ Álvarez (25-6-2, 16 ko’s).
Alvarez started well, but in the same round, a warning from Omar had been sent which had connected. It was a powerful right that put Alvarez in poor condition, but the son of a legend did not finish there.
Already by the second round, the people were shouting dividedly in favor of both Chavez and Alvarez.
Omar shuffled backwards to the attacks of Álvarez, but suddenly fired back and connected with the brother of ‘Canelo’ with a left, then the Sinaloan went to the attack again and landed powerful rights to Ramón, one of which hit him right on the jaw and rendered him defenseless. Ramon was knocked to the ropes and received three more lefts until the referee stopped the fight.
“The Chávez dynasty is better and I knew I would knock him out. My brother Julio will continue that next week against ‘Canelo. All my respect for Ramon,” said a euphoric Omar.
