Tyson Fury doubts Joshua v Klitschko happens, expects injury

Fury, who has been in exile since claiming the championship from Klitschko in November 2015, has become more and more vocal the closer the fight gets after trading insults with Joshua earlier this week.

On Thursday, Fury ramped up his tirade against the title bout, whilst also stating he doesn’t believe Joshua v Klitschko is a Wembley Stadium 90,000 sell-out as stated by promoter Eddie Hearn.

“Starting to think the Klitschko vs AJ fight isn’t happening this month,” said Fury. “I bet someone gets injured. Sell out my arse!” The controversial figure then followed it up by calling Hearn ‘a p***y’.

A portion of the statement seems a little surprising from Fury who himself withdrew a contracted fight with Klitschko last year. Since then, Fury has been enjoying the considerable money made from becoming the lineal champion at 200 pounds+ as the boxing world awaits news of a comeback from the charismatic puncher.

The 27 year-old had originally threatened a return to the ring on May 13 of this year, although by his own admission, has since put on more weight and seems no nearer being able to compete with the best around.

That hasn’t stopped Fury from proclaiming to be the best there was, best there is and best there ever will be, though, as Joshua bids to move closer to matching his achievements against Klitschko.

Victory at Wembley would see Joshua crowned a triple champion, with just Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker left on the radar for the Londoner to become the undisputed champion of the world.
