Confirmed: Prince Patel no longer associated with Frank Warren

WBN has confirmed by Warren’s team that Patel is no longer on the BoxNation roster following a turbulent few months.

Initially signing with Warren in April 2015 under a blaze of publicity, Patel has failed to live up to his own hype following just three wins and draw in that time period. For a flyweight, four fights in 21 months constitute a snail’s pace as the 24-year-old continues his sluggish progress towards the British title at 112 pounds.

Patel initially signed for Warren, having been dropped by Steve Goodwin for a controversial interview, in which the southpaw was verbally crude on more than one occasion.

Warren maybe thought he could tame the youngster by putting an arm around him, although that was put to bed quickly when Patel slated former world champion and BoxNation pundit Barry Jones live on-air in his first TV appearance on the channel.

Since then, Patel has kept a lower profile – possibly under orders from Warren – but suffered a big career blow during that time when drawing with unheralded Spanish-Peruvian journeyman Juan Hinostroza in March 2016.

Just one appearance has transpired in the ring in the past year, a four-round decision win in Harrow last October.
