Floyd Mayweather, speaking at his recent Undefeated UK Tour, explained how a cross-codes bout with Conor McGregor first came about.

The 40-year-old, apart from stating his intention to come out of retirement to face McGregor, revealed he didn’t even know who the UFC champion was until two members of his security informed him.

Fans of the UFC, Mayweather’s entourage members enlighted ‘Money’ to what the Irishman is about and basically gave birth to the idea of a fight between the pair.

Since realizing the enormity of a possible Pay-Per-View extravaganza, Mayweather now stands on the verge of agreeing a nine-figure deal to duke it out with McGregor in the second half of 2017.

McGregor is attempting to gain a boxing license in Nevada, whilst Mayweather is putting in the groundwork by drumming up further interest in Europe.
