Exclusive: Lucas Browne open to facing the returning Tyson Fury

Fury recently stated his intent to end a year and a half out of action on May 13 and Browne is either open to the date in question or indeed sharing a bill before then duking it out with the one-time unified king.

“Hell yeah I’d fight Tyson Fury on May 13,” Browne exclusively told World Boxing News.

“Even if we both fight on the night as a warm up and then fight each other after that. I’d have no problem with either,” added the undefeated Australian.

Browne is set to make his own way back soon following a career stall due to a failed WBC drug test on the back of more controversy surrounding the 37 year-old’s world title win over Ruslan Chagaev.

Inactivity since July hasn’t helped Browne’s goal to face the best around, although a fight with Fury would certainly please the fans and see two champions who never lost their belts in the ring go at it.

‘Big Daddy’ recently released a book outlined a rollercoaster eight months, culminating in Browne contemplating his career as a boxer before deciding on proving the doubters wrong.

Lining up Fury as his next foe would be a step in the right direction, whilst it remains unclear as to whether an encounter could be made due to several factors surrounding both ex-rulers.
