Undercard news for Garcia v Thurman / Haye v Bellew

WBN 28/02/2017

The undercards for Saturday’s massive night of action are all but complete as a host of contenders take to arenas in New York and London respectively.

In Brooklyn, welterweight world title holders Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman put their undefeated records on the line in a bid to be called the best 147 pounder on the planet.

Garcia or Thurman will take over the mantle from Floyd Mayweather Jr, and walk out of the Barclays Center with two coveted championships.

In the co-feature, Erickson Lubin and Jorge Cota face-off to move a step closer to a WBC super-welterweight title shot at Jermell Charlo, whilst women’s favorite Heather Hardy competes in a ten-rounder against Edina Kiss.

An eye-catching clash between Polish light heavyweight Andrzej Fonfara and ex-world ruler Chad Dawson bolsters the bill, whilst undefeated Mario Barrios and Sergey Lipinets hope to extend their rise up the rankings.

Rounding off the event are Ricky Lopez in a match-up against Pablo Cruz, Thomas Velasquez in a six-rounder and Richardson Hitchins making his super-lightweight pro debut opposite 1-0 Mario Perez.
