Four of the main protagonists for this weekend’s Sky Box Office action at The O2 Arena went face-to-face at The Hilton Hotel in Liverpool on Monday.
David Haye and Tony Bellew, who go at it in the heavyweight headliner, had to be kept apart throughout proceedings for a fear of a repeat of the first press conference.
Bellew was struck as the pair squared up at the first media gathering some weeks ago, so promoter Eddie Hearn was keen to avoid another blow landing.
Hearn encouraged the Liverpool fans present to give Haye a Partizan reception, of which the Bellew faithful duly didn’t disappoint.
Haye and trainer Shane McGuigan could hardly be heard over the baiting, which at times boarded on the horrendous.
In the co-feature, Ohara Davies puts his WBC silver super-lightweight belt up for grabs against Merseyside favourite Derry Mathews, and once again, there was no love lost.
Davies gave some hefty verbals to the waiting supporters before the event had even begun, which included some language that could not be repeated.
Both fights are simmering nicely though ahead of fight week as London braces itself for a Scouse invasion this coming weekend.
Fighters will go through a final press conference on Thursday and weigh-in on Friday ahead of the respective first bells on Saturday.
