Liam Walsh, Gamal Yafai, Isaac Lowe drop Commonwealth belts

CBC 22/02/2017

At SUPER-FEATHERWEIGHT, LIAM WALSH (England) has confirmed he has vacated the Championship as he will not be able to meet his CBC mandatory defence obligation whilst pursuing an IBF World Title opportunity.

Promoter Stefy Bull has matched mandatory contender ANDY TOWNEND (England) against JON KAY (England) for the vacant Title on a date to be confirmed in April.

For failure to defend as ordered, both ISAAC LOWE (England) at FEATHERWEIGHT and GAMAL YAFAI (England) at SUPER-BANTAMWEIGHT have lost their Titles which have now been declared vacant.

Mandatory contender EMMANUEL QUARTEY (Ghana) may make a match against any contender approved by the CBC for the Super-bantamweight Championship whilst at Featherweight, with no ordered mandatory contender, the CBC will approve the first acceptable match applied for by any promoter.
