Kosei Tanaka respectful of Angel Acosta ahead of mandatory talks

World Boxing Organization mini-flyweight champion Kosei Tanaka (8-0, 5KO’s) of Japan performed a boxing workout for the media in Puerto Rico.

The two division champion expressed respect for the power of his mandatory challenger Angel ‘Tito’ Acosta (16-0, 16KO’s) when comparing him to his past challenge and former world champion Mexican Moises Fuentes. “I can see that he is stronger than Fuentes, he has a lot of power in his punches and a really good boxer,” said Tanaka. Angel Acosta who recently edged out ten-round TKO to Namibian # 1 ranked Jafet ‘The Lion’ Uutoni now stands to challenge his title shot against Tanaka who is promoted by Hatanaka Promotions. “We have an already separated date in Nagoya City in Japan for May 20, now we will wait for the team of Miguel Cotto to make the fight, there is much enthusiasm in our country for this fight,” said promoter
