PBE’s St. Patrick’s Day card to be broadcast live on UNILAD

World Amateur Bronze Medallist Joe Murray tops the bill in an eliminator for Commonwealth title.

Murray made a massive impact in his last outing with a phenomenal knockout over highly rated Rasheed Kassem in Denmark. The win skyrocketed Murray to the forefront of the boxing world and the Beijing Olympian now sets his sights on the commonwealth title. Most boxers say it, but Joe really will fight anyone and believes many in the lightweight division are scared to fight him.

The undercard will give many of the North West’s emerging stars a chance to showcase their skills on a massive platform.

One of these fighters is Sam Hyde, who is coming off the back off a great win against former Olympian Blaise Mendouo. Sam took the challenge of facing the much avoided Mendouo, head on and prevailed in an excellent contest last time out. Hyde will face a tough 8 rounder contest as part of his plan for title glory in 2017.

The St Patrick’s Day Showdown will also see the return of the son of the original Irish Mexican – Michael Gomez Jr. Gomez Jr has linked up with another great of Manchester boxing, Anthony Farnell, as he looks to make a massive impact on the Bantamweight division this year.

The show will also showcase former amateur star Anthony Leak, one of Steve Mayletts next men tipped for glory, former professional footballer turned boxer Matty Mainwaring trained by Matthew Hatton as well as the three boys from the fight factory gym headed by Sean Krool which is beginning to churn out some serious boxers; Stephen Danyo, Artif Ali and The Minerals, Mindaugas Baublys and their records speak for themselves.

James Lindemann who now finds his home at the PBE weighed in on the St Patrick’s Day Showdown event:

“There will be some great fighters in very competitive fights on March 17. Joe Murray produced a knockout of the year candidate in his last fight so I’m delighted to see him top the bill in another tough fight on the St Patrick’s Day show. Sam Hyde faces a big test in an 8 rounder and the amount of big names on the show suits the PBE vision and makes for an entertaining show.’

“Professional Boxing Entertainment aim for its shows to have quality fights with quality production. To add to that, the night will be finished off with an excellent after-party in the arena itself. We want to offer boxing fans a unique and exhilarating night.”

Tickets for the Professional Boxing Entertainment show on March 17 at Bowlers Arena are available from all fighters on the bill and from pbeofficial.com
