The teams of German Tyron Zeuge (19-0-1, 11KO), current World Boxing Association super middleweight champion, and Nigerian Isaac Ekpo (31-2, 24KO), title challenger, have reached an agreement to fight each other on March 18th in Germany.

Thus, they avoided the purse bid that was set for January 31st at the WBA offices in Panama.

The bid to carry out the fight was ordered by the body’s Championships Committee, because both parties hadn’t reached an agreement and had 30 days to do so starting from December 13th.

The German gladiator obtained his WBA super middleweight belt in November 2016, after knocking out Italian Giovanni De Carolis, while Ekpo has had a run of nine wins, eight of them by knockout, and currently occupies the third place in the world ranking.
