Adam Etches is excited at the prospect of facing John Ryder next month on an undercard topped by Chris Eubank Jr.

The duo will both be moving up to super middleweight for the first time on February 4 and Etches has insisted the fans will be in for a treat come fight night.

“Me versus John will be fight of the night. Neither will take a backward step and it will be a barnstormer,” Etches exclusively told World Boxing News.

“People who have bought tickets, I must give a massive thank you. It’s brilliant to have the support and those who haven’t got tickets but are going to be buying the PPV, a massive thank you to you guys too, it’s going to be an entertaining night.

There’s no bad blood between the pair and Etches has admitted he has nothing but respect for the boxer ahead of their contest for the IBF international title.

“He’s a nice kid, I’ve always got on with him and said hello. He’s a tidy boxer and a very good boxer, but just a bit inconsistent. I think if you look at his early fights he was very good but has been beaten by people he shouldn’t have got beaten by, even though he’s a very good boxer.

“I’m going to get in there and hopefully figure him out on the night. Hopefully I’ll have an answer for everything he brings.”

‘The Bomber’ has also praised ITV’s intentions to get back into the bigtime of boxing through announcing their new Box Office channel.

“It’s brilliant, it provides a platform for the elite fighters and domestic fighters because in the past ITV has always been very good and reached massive numbers, but once you’ve reached the pinnacle of the sport, then there’s been nowhere else to go but Sky.

“Now there’s ITV PPV, the elite fighters and Olympic gold medallist winners can really go to town on PPV, and ITV should do better numbers than Sky,” he added.

Adam Etches v John Ryder is part of Eubank v Quinlan from London’s Olympia, to be shown live and exclusively on ITV Box Office.
