Adam Harper steps up in class on March 4 in Walsall

‘The Hurricane’, undefeated in seven professional contests since his debut in 2014 has already claimed British Challenge and International honours but goes in search of a first bona fide British Boxing Board of Control belt on Errol Johnson’s ‘No Guts, No Glory’ show at Walsall Town Hall on Saturday, 4th March.

“It’s a big step up for me,” Harper told uko-boxing.com. “Curtis Valentine is a huge puncher who renders people unconscious for fun. No-one wants to fight him but, just like in the amateur days, I’m happy to accept the challenge.

“I go into the fight as an underdog possibly but that means nothing to me.”

Valentine (7-3) has five KO’s on his slate and has held the middleweight version of the Midlands Area Title. An explosive puncher, Harper is mindful of the threat he poses.

“He’s been on my mind ever since I heard the fight could happen,” added the 28 year-old. “He has dynamite in both hands but knowing what he is capable of will drive me forward and motivate me. This is a proper fight against a proper fighter. It’s for a Midlands Title too which means a lot to me. I’m ready to bring that brown belt back to Tewkesbury.”

The remainder of the card has yet to be finalised. Tickets can be purchased by calling Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. Standard tickets are priced at £30 with VIP Ringside priced at £60.
