Editor’s Choice (Fighter of the Year)
WBN Fight of the Year
WBN Young Fighter of the Year (23 under)
Pound for Pound Breakthrough
Stoppage of 2016

Below are the nominations for Comeback of 2016 –

Marco Huck

The German IBO belt holder made a successful return from losing his position as cruiserweight world champion and broke back into the WBN Pound for Pound Top 50 in the process.

Manny Pacquiao

The Filipino Senator came back from a loss to Floyd Mayweather in May 2015 to defeat two ex-world champions in Timothy Bradley and Jessie Vargas. ‘Pacman’ even regained his position as the number one fighter on the planet, albeit briefly, until Andre Ward’s win over Sergey Kovalev.

Abner Mares

Losing to Leo Santa Cruz saw Mares out of action for 16 months before the Mexican recently dethroned Jesus Cuellar to become a five-time world title holder.

Mikey Garcia

Spending three and a half years in the wilderness due to a contract dispute, Garcia defeated Elio Rojas in July to gain a shot at the WBC lightweight title.

Winners of all WBN Awards will be announced in mid-January. Look out for more nominations in the coming days
