World Title Prospect of 2017
Here are the nominations for World Title Prospect of 2017, the fight most likely to win a world title and remain at a world class level:
Callum Smith – Super Middleweight
The young Briton stands on the verge of a WBC title shot in 2017 against the winner of James DeGale v Badou Jack and has every chance of taking the coveted green strap when he does.
Mairis Briedis – Cruiserweight
Latvian powerhouse Mairis Briedis is the number one contender to the WBC cruiserweight belt and looks nailed on to contest the championship in the next few months.
Chris Eubank Jr. – Super Middleweight
Recently announcing his return to action in 2017, many would be highly surprised if the former British champion isn’t holding aloft a strap of some sort by the end of next year.
Errol Spence Jr. – Welterweight
Highly touted as one of the best up and coming fighters on the planet, 2017 promises to be a massive year for Errol Spence Jr. and potentially a lucrative one.
Last year’s winner, Oleksandr Usyk, went on to claim his world title as predicted in September.
Winners of all WBN Awards will be announced in mid-January. Look out for more nominations in the coming days
