UFC boss on boxing license / Mayweather: No idea what McGregor is doing

White, who enjoys a tempestuous relationship with the Irishman, pushed a reminder of McGregor being under the banner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and contracted to compete in 2017.

McGregor has made no secret of his desire to crossover to boxing in order to challenge Floyd Mayweather Jr. and approval by a commission was seen as the first step to making it a reality.

“I have no idea what Conor is doing,” White told Yahoo Sports.

“Conor’s Conor. He does his thing. But he’s under contract to me. Who knows with this guy?”

On the Mayweather fight, White added: “I just let Conor be Conor. And the other thing is, it’s fun to talk about this (Mayweather) fight and what might happen, but what commission would let that fight happen? Really, think about that.”

‘The Notorious’ last fought when becoming the first fighter to win UFC titles in two weight divisions at the same time, although recently gave up his featherweight strap to concentrate on a reign at lightweight.

Former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi has already called out McGregor for a bout in the coming year when informing WBN of his desire to ‘send McGregor’ back to UFC with his tail between his legs’.
