Nielsen, who underwent surgery on a broken hand earlier this year, has been kept out of the ring for almost twelve months, but now fully recovered, the slick southpaw aims to make a sensational return as he looks to kick-start a World title assault in 2017.

‘’I’m really looking forward to fighting again,’’ said the 25 year-old. ‘’2017 is going to be big year for me! I’m going to be back showcasing my skills and reminding everyone of just how good I am.

‘’I’m more motivated than ever, because believe me, when you’re out of the ring for a year and away from the sport you love, it makes you hungry, and now, I’m ready to get back on track for a World title challenge.

‘’I’ve been putting in a lot of work in the gym. My training has been going well and I feel stronger than ever. The timing of this fight is perfect for me and I can’t wait to entertain the fans in Struer.’’

Nielsen is joined in action by 23 year-old super bantamweight Thorslund, who has taken the division by storm since joining the paid ranks in February 2015. In October, Thorslund celebrated her seventh professional win with a stunning stoppage victory over Oksana Romanova, and now, she takes another step forward with her first title fight.

“I’m extremely happy to get a title fight at home in Struer,” she said. “It’s in my backyard, and I know the whole town will be rooting for me. In my last fight I showed that I’m more than a knockout fighter. I was patient and I saved my energy to strike at the right time. I know I will be matched hard in a title fight so I will be ready to box clever again.

‘’I don’t fear any fighter, for me, it doesn’t matter who I come up against. I’ve proven that I can go the rounds and that I can knockout opponents early. Whoever I face, the crowd can always expect a hell of a fight.”

“We are delighted to bringing the Nordic Fight Night to Struer,” said promoter Nisse Sauerland. ‘’It’s great to have Patrick back in action, it’s been a difficult year for him with the injury, but now he can make up for lost time. We will be looking to get him back into position to challenge for a World title later this year.

‘’Dina has a chance to claim her first title, and what better place to do it than in her hometown. There are no easy title fights so she will need to come prepared, but I believe she has the ability to go all the way. As always, alongside our main events, we will have a stacked undercard featuring the best of Danish boxing.’’

Tickets for the Nordic Fight Night on January 21 go on sale on today at 12.00 and are available online via www.billetlugen.dk or by calling (+45) 70 263 267. All the action will be shown live on Viaplay Fighting. For more information, please visit
