Bernard Hopkins, 51, in amazing shape at WBC check weigh-in
Bernard Hopkins (55-7-2, 37 KO’S) will be fighting in what might be the last bout of his professional career against Joe Smith Jr ( 22-1, 18 KO’s), who at 27 years of age is almost quarter of a century younger than him.
The prize (22-1-18 KO) is the WBC International light heavyweight champion on December 17. Hopkins presented the WBC 30 days weigh in, at 186 pounds proving to be in top conditions to contest for the WBC International belt.
Hopkins aged 51, hasn’t fought since November 2014, when Sergey Kovalev defeated him by decision. With his clever, cagey and defensive style Hopkins has been able to extend his successful career way, way further than anyone, apart from him could have expected.
On the other hand in the other corner, Smith (21-1, 18 KO´s) is a rival who mightily surprised the world, by knocking out Andrzej Fonfara in the 1st round to conquer the WBC International belt.
