Scott Allan vs Scott McCormack III for the Scottish title to headline Mike Towell night at St Andrew’s Sporting Club on November 24.
In a popular decision, Shotts Bantamweight Scott Allan will now defend his Scottish title against Glasgow’s Scott McCormack in a rematch of their cracking scrap from last June.
The two who drew there first contest over four rounds prior to their Scottish title encounter, will lock horns once again with Allan’s Scottish title up for grabs. ‘Title Taker’ Allan commented on the change of opponent and his thoughts about facing McCormack for the third time.
“It doesn’t matter who I fight, the outcome will always be the same. A Scott Allan victory!
“As for McCormack, I’m going to make sure I give him more of a beating than I did in our last fight so he’ll never want to fight me again!”
The show which features Greenrigg puncher Kieran Smith and Barrhead’s debutante Gary Rae will be screened live on STV on a night that will honour the late Mike Towell. The Shotts upstart elaborated on what it meant to main event a show live on STV on ‘Mike Towell night’.
“What happened with Mike was a tragedy, he will be truly missed.
“To be topping the bill on a night that honours Mike is a massive honour in itself. I’m going to put on a display that Mike would have been proud of and walk away still Scottish Bantamweight Champion.”
A potential British title shot may lie in wait for the winner of this fight on November 24 and St Andrew’s Sporting Club Director Iain Wilson is thrilled with having such a competitive title contest on the November 24 show.
“Allan and McCormack are two game fighters who will be coming to win. The winner may get the opportunity to box for the British title down the line so the incentive to win is massive for both fighters.
“We’re delighted to have such high class fighters and fights on the show and I can guarantee everyone in attendance or tuning in on STV won’t be disappointed.”
