Joshua v Klitschko / Brook v Khan both favoured to happen in 2017

Betway’s Alan Alger sees Joshua v Klitschko at massive odds on to take place in the UK, most probably in the spring, after the WBA sanctioned the contest for the ‘super’ title.

“Looking past the Molina fight, punters have been happy to take the 1/5 that Klitschko is Joshua’s first opponent in the new year,” said Alger.

“David Haye needs a belt before AJ’s sucked into that fight, while Joshua is 9/2 to be lured into a bout with Price before any other in 2017.

“Brook-Khan would be a lively contest and the betting suggests the possibility of that fight hangs in the balance. We go 4/7 it goes ahead in 2017 and 5/4 it doesn’t.”

Joshua-Klitschko in 2017:
Yes – 1/10
No – 11/2

Joshua first fight in 2017:
Klitschko – 1/5
Price – 9/2
Haye – 20/1
Fury – 50/1

Brook-Khan in 2017:

On the Molina fight itself, which was announced for December 10 this week, Alger added: “We’re taking no risks with this one!

“Anthony Joshua is the biggest thing in boxing at the moment and we think he’ll put away Eric Molina with ease.

“AJ goes into the fight as close to a dead cert as you can get at 1/33 and is 1/10 to win by knockout. Any Molina fans can back the 34-year-old Mexican at 10/1.”
