Shotts Bantamweight Scott Allan is looking to pick up his second title as a professional boxer as he takes on the game Craig Derbyshire over eight rounds for the British Classic Challenge title on November 24th at the famous St Andrew’s Sporting Club in Glasgow, in a night that will honour the life of Mike Towell.
Allan, who was a decorated Kickboxer before making the transition into professional boxing, picked up the Scottish Area Bantamweight title in his last contest, overcoming Scott McCormack to claim the vacant title and the North Lanarkshire native is excited at the prospect of winning his second title in as many contests.
“It feels amazing and it’ll feel even better to get that belt around my waist come the 24th of November after this we’re going to snowball our way to the top.”
Allan now looks to pick up his second professional title as he takes on the more experienced Englishman in Derbyshire and the current Scottish Champion gave his thoughts on his English opponent.
“He’s a tough durable kid with a fair bit of experience against tough tough lads but he’s not in my class really looking forward to sharing the ring him, getting another W on the record and progress up the rankings with a dominant performance.”
“My prediction for the fight is to win and win looking good strong and sharp.”
This will be the first time that Allan has boxed on the prestigious St Andrew’s Sporting Club which has featured the likes of Ken Buchanan, Jim Watt and in more recent years Allan’s manager, Willie Limond. The Peter Harrison trained upstart gave his thoughts on boxing at the famous St Andrew’s Sporting Club.

The bill that is topped by Scott Allan vs Craig Derbyshire also features the big punching Greenrigg Super Welterweight Kieran Smith who’s fresh off his sensational 18-second victory at the SSE Hydro.
The bill is completed by exciting Barrhead Super Bantamweight Gary Rae who makes his professional debut.
