United Boxing Promotions is proud to announce the addition of a six round, light heavyweight tilt between Tim “The Irish” Cronin (8-1-1 2KOs) of Etobicoke and Phil “the Assassin” Rose (5-4-1 4KOs) of Whitby to their November 19 card slated for the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
The card is being co-promoted by United Boxing Promotions and Eye of the Tiger of Management, placing top notch talent including Simon Kean, Josh O’Reilly, and Mohammed Abedeen on the same, fan-friendly card. If styles do truly make fights, the Cronin-Rose contest that steals the show.
Undefeated in his last nine bouts, Cronin is one of the hottest prospects in Canadian boxing. In his most recent outing, “The Irish” took a six round unanimous decision over then once-defeated Kristof Demendi (10-2-2, 6KOs) of Slovakia. For Rose, it will be a much anticipated return to action after over two years away from the ring. It may seem like a long hiatus, but Rose has mounted successful returns in the past. After a year and a half away from the pro scene in 2014, Rose scored a TKO5 over Canadian Olympian Adam Trupish (11-2-0, 8KOs), before dropping a decision to Brandon Cook (17-0-0, 10KOs) for the vacant NABA Canada middleweight title.
With a slick boxer like Cronin taking on a relentless puncher like Rose, there is bound to be plenty of fireworks before someone’s hand is raised.
