Carl Frampton: Leo Santa Cruz rematch a done deal

The 29 year-old travelled to the United States in July to dethrone the talented Mexican, just five months after scoring a career-best victory over big UK rival Scott Quigg in Manchester.

Such was the excitement of the first Frampton v Cruz offering, talk immediately turned to a contracted rematch once ‘The Jackal’ was declared an upset winner in New York City.

Frampton could now battle Santa Cruz again in the first quarter of 2017 before moving on to a massive unification with IBF belt holder Lee Selby at a stadium in Ireland or Wales next summer.

Santa Cruz, 28, suffered his first defeat in 34 contests against the Belfast man and was keen for revenge when speaking about facing Frampton again in the aftermath.

More details are set to be released through Cyclone Promotions soon.
