Undefeated welterweight world champion Danny “Swift” Garcia returns Saturday, November 12 in a non-title fight against Colombia’s Samuel Vargas that headlines Premier Boxing Champions on Spike from Temple University’s Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

Garcia’s fight against Vargas is the final hurdle before his highly anticipated welterweight world title unification showdown against undefeated champion Keith Thurman planned for the first quarter of 2017.

The WBC welterweight champion hasn’t fought since January when defeating Robert Guerrero to claim the championship but will be aiming to extend his 32-0 record before facing Thurman.

Opponent Vargas, 27, has won his last five since losing out to Errol Spence Jr. and can push himself towards a world title shot of his own with an upset victory.

In addition to Garcia and Vargas, undefeated rising star Jarrett Hurd, unbeaten prospect Omar Douglas and local prospects Thomas Velasquez, Jeffrey Torres, Kyrone Davis, Milton Santiago and Antonio Dubose will be featuring on an action-packed undercard.
