No opponent for Ashley Theophane, Las Vegas return delayed

The lack of an opponent was cited by Theophane when contacted by WBN over the cancellation as ‘Treasure’ aimed to put his world title loss to Adrien Broner behind him at Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall.

Despite the headliner being forced off the show, the Mayweather Promotions event will still go ahead with Ronald Gavril now topping the show against Christopher Brooker at super-middleweight.

Also on the bill, undefeated Josue Vargas makes an appearance against Samuel Santana, whilst Xavier Martinez battles Wilfredo Garriga over six rounds.

At welterweight, Sanjarbek Rakhmanov faces fellow-unbeaten Jonathan Dinong, whilst Daniel Gonzalez aims for a second career win at super-featherweight.

The co-feature contest sees Ladarius Miller go up against Ronald Rivas at the super-lightweight limit.

Miller, 23, has won his last two fights since suffering a shock first loss against Rolando Chinea back in February but is a nailed on favourite to overcome Rivas to record a twelfth triumph later tonight.

Regarding Theophane, the 36 year-old ex-UK champion informed WBN he’s already been handed a new date for his next bout, which will be revealed in due course.
