Exclusive: Peter Fury says son Hughie not fighting David Haye, no undercards either

Both fighters recently took to social media to declare their intentions to return on that date, leading to instant speculation that they could meet each other, potentially on the yet-to-be confirmed Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko undercard.

Fury insisted this wasn’t that case though and also revealed that Hughie will not be featuring on somebody elses bill as the 22 year-old unbeaten contender aims to push towards a title shot of his own.

“Hughie is scheduled to fight on December 10 but no opponent has been named yet,” Fury exclusively told World Boxing News.

“I can tell you that a fight with David Haye has not been offered to us and Hughie will not be fighting on any other undercards,” he added.

Already boasting a 20-0 record with ten stoppages, Fury defeated Fred Kassi last time out to pick up a fringe WBO belt and claim a handy place in the world rankings. Only Joseph Parker and American Andy Ruiz Jr. are currently above Fury with the WBO as the youngster edges closer to the top names.

It seems there could be up to three massive top division shows planned for the December 10 in the wake of Peter’s Hughie confirmation should Haye not feature on the Joshua v Klitschko bill himself.
