Today’s highly anticipated rematch between Consensus #1 Pound-for-Pound Female Fighter in the World, Cecilia Braekhus, (28-0-0, 7 KO’s) and challenger Anne Sophie Mathis, (27-3-1, 23 KO’s) from a sold-out Oslo Spektrum in Oslo, Norway will have a worldwide telecast including live on the The Fight Network, (www.FightNetwork.com) in the United States, Canada, Portugal, Belgium, Turkey, Angola as well as the Middle East and North African countries starting at 4:00 p.m. ET, 1:00 p.m. PT.

“Homecoming” is the result of years of efforts on Braekhus’ part to lift the government ban her native Norway had on professional boxing over the last 35 years. Over the course of her nine-year professional career, “The First Lady” has fought in Denmark, Finland, Switzerland and Belgium.

Yesterday at the weigh-in, Braekhus tipped the scale at 147lbs. while Sophie Mathis was 146.1lbs. for their welterweight clash. Braekhus will be defending all five of her titles, WBC/WBA/WBO/IBF and IBO.

Four years ago, on September 22, 2012, Braekhus and Sophie Mathis, battled for ten epic rounds in Frederikshavn, Denmark, with Braekhus winning a hard fought decision by scores of 97-93 on all three judges scorecards.
