Cameron Hammond v Kris George confirmed for Nov 25 in Toowoomba

“Friday November 25 is locked in,” Promoter Brendon Smith confirmed.

“And it will be at the home of boxing on the Darling Downs – Rumours International.

“This is really exciting news and what a great couple of months we have for boxing fans.

“October 22 is TGW and Smithy Bring the Big Fights 14 – which features three title fights, then just over one month later we back up on November 25 with the Commonwealth title.”

Tickets for the George vs Hammond bout will go on sale at TGW & Smithy Bring the Big Fights 14 on October 22. George and Hammond will also be on hand on the night and will go face to face for the first time.

“I can confirm both Kris and Cameron will be present at our October 22 fight show,” Smith said.

“We will present them to the crowd and they will meet face to face and then tickets will go on sale from that point.

“It will be the beginning of a huge build up for this super fight.

“A commonwealth title, on the Downs featuring a local fighter – it doesn’t get much bigger that that.”

With contracts signed and a date and venue set – let the games begin!

“This is a bout between two men who have just the one defeat between them. Both boys are World class.

“The fact that the Commonwealth has verbally agreed to sanction it speaks volumes of the standard of this fight.

“The Commonwealth title is one of the most prestigious In the World.

“It’s been around 30 to 40 years since two Australians fought for a Commonwealth title in Queensland.

“The Toowoomba fans deserve this fight. This is huge for our region and our country.”
