With the fight just under a week away, both men agreed to answer some questions for the press.
On training for September 24:
Ryan Young: Camp has been on point and Team Young is firing on all cylinders.
Ryan Wagner: Training camp has been excellent, I feel great. I can’t wait to get in there on September 24. I had great sparring. I also made it down to Vegas to run the strip every day.
On the Canadian title:
Ryan Young: My main focus isn’t on the belt, it’s on getting the win against Ryan Wagner. But as a Canadian, winning the national super welterweight title is something that I’ve wanted since I started this boxing gig. It would be a nice reward for all the hard work I put in behind the scenes and I’m thankful for the opportunity.
Ryan Wagner: My will to win this fight is insurmountable. I want this belt. I’ve worked harder than ever before and people will see that.
Regarding their opposition:
Ryan Young: Although Wagner is a tough opponent, I believe my boxing IQ and skill set will be what gives me the win on September 24.
Ryan Wagner: The level of opposition I’ve faced is far beyond his. I’ve been facing the best and beating undefeated opponents my whole career. I’m in amazing shape for this fight.
