Port Glasgow Light Heavyweight Grant Quigley has a big season planned for him as he features on the St Andrew’s Sporting Club opening show of the season at Glasgow’s Radisson Hotel on September 29th.
The bill that is topped by Dundee’s Mike Towell who contests a final eliminator for the British Welterweight title against Welshman Dale Evans will be Quigley’s fifth outing as a professional. The former Scottish and British amateur Champion has his sights set on emulating and bettering his amateur achievements in the professional ranks. After notching up two knockouts in his last two contests, the early signs are that the Port Glasgow man is very realistic in his ambitions.
“Training is going well ahead of September 29th. I’m feeling strong and sharp and I’m predicting an explosive performance from myself!”
“I’m really looking forward to showing off my skills and I’ve got to say a massive thank you to my management team Iain Wilson and Colin Bellshaw for the opportunity,”
The opening show of the season from the St Andrew’s Sporting Club which also includes fellow Inverclyde native and former Scottish amateur star Sam Ball; will be aiming to set the bar high in the terms of Scottish boxing. The ambitious Light Heavyweight Quigley will be looking to set the bar high in terms of performance as he looks to progress quickly as a professional.
“My ambitions as a professional is too win the Scottish title this year and the British title next. The fans can expect entertaining fights where explosive power will be on display and they can expect to see my opponents get hurt, they can expect to see a good variety of shots head and body and a massive will to win.”
