World welterweight champion Jessie Vargas has a chilling message to Manny Pacquiao.

“Prepare yourself because I am going to beat you,” Vargas said just before he began training camp for his Nov. 5 clay with the Filipino eight-division champion at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.

“I will get this victory. I will make it happen,” added the 27-year-old Vargas, who will risk his 147-lb throne for the first time, a title one held by Pacquiao before announcing his retirement that turned out to be short-lived.

Vargas is already back in Las Vegas setting the stage for the start of his buildup.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, is in the thick of things at the Senate and won’t be showing up in the gym until he gets back from a whirlwind promotional tour in the second week of September.

But Pacquiao, whose last fight was a masterful beating of Tim Bradley last April, insists he will be sweating it out soon.

Vargas has a 27-1 card with 10 KOs and stands three inches taller at 5-10.

Top Rank chief Bob Arum, who was a recent Manila visitor, swears Pacquiao will be in for a rough night because of Vargas’ aggressive style.

Vargas is a Las Vegas native although he is of Mexican lineage.

Pacquiao, a professional for over 20 years, has a 58-6-2 mark with 38
