Carlos Caraballo, Puerto Rico’s current amateur national champion at 123 pounds, who under other circumstances was suppose to be competing at the summer Olympic games in Rio 2016, has signed a multi year promotional agreement with Miguel Cotto Promotions.
The 20 years old southpaw, born in Ponce, Puerto Rico but nature itself of the small town of Guayanilla in the south of Puerto Rico, owns an unofficially amateur record of 143-14.
“I am very grateful to Miguel Cotto’s company that gave me the opportunity to show my talent,” said the fighter who, as a professional, will be fighting at 118 pounds.
“We are very happy to have Carlos Carabalo as part of our company. We have been following him over a year, we like that pro style that he has ” said Hector Soto, vice president and promoter. “We saw the opposition that he faced and in particular, the fight in which he beat Joshuantony Ortiz” he added.
“Caraballo has great skills and a natural talent. He had great achievements as an amateur boxer and now we will provide the opportunities for him to work hard for his dream to become a world champion, “said five-time champion in four divisions and promoter Miguel Cotto. Carlos Caraballo will be making his pro debut on Saturday September 10 at Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment card at the The Auditorium in Comerio Puerto Rico.
