Ross Roberts expects home crowd support versus Faheem Khan

The tough welterweight faces an intriguing Plymouth v Exeter battle when Khan travels down the A38 for the ‘Summer Sizzler’ Guildhall show on July 30.

Khan says he will bring a three-figure crowd of supporters for the scrap but Roberts plans to capitalise on being the ‘home’ fighter.

“It’s a good Devon derby,” he told uko-boxing.com.

“But I’m the Plymouth fighter on a Plymouth show so the crowd will be on my side. Whether it’s people there to specifically support me or just local people coming to the show, the majority of the fans will be on my side.

“It’s going to be a great night. Boxing is buzzing in Plymouth at the moment and we’ve got fighters going around the country to box as well as the shows being put on here.

“The card is very strong for the Guildhall show but I actually think me against Khan could end up being the fight of the night.”

Plymouth fighters – Darren Townley, Chris Adaway, Des Newton, and Cristian Hoskin-Gomez, are also in action whilst Guernsey prospect, Tom Duff, also features.

Launceston bantamweight, Marcus Hodgson, and Cornwall cruiserweight, Marcus Kelly, complete the card as they stand by to make their professional debuts.

Tickets for Summer Sizzler are £30 or £50 Ringside and are available by calling: 07958 398 355. Doors open at 6:30pm with boxing commencing at 7:30pm at Plymouth Guildhall, Armada Way, Plymouth, PL1 2AA.
