Jose ‘The Look’ Lopes to fight Russ Henshaw on Sept 17 in London

Lopes, managed by Steve Goodwin, made his debut in November 2014 and has amassed 6 straight victories (3 stoppages) with his last fight at the O2 in January when knocking out usually durable Darren Snow in one round.

Lopes has since taken time out to continue studying for his engineering degree, appreciating there is a life after boxing, but returns and asked manager Goodwin for a real test in September. This is supplied by Henshaw who’s only defeat in 7 came against Matchroom promoted Isaac Chamberlain.

Lopes is aiming to gatecrash Southern Area and English titles in 2017 but must first overcome the tough and rugged Henshaw who gave Chamberlain problems in their clash.

Lopes once described as “The new David Haye” by then trainer Don Charles has a flamboyant style and poses plenty of charisma to go along with undoubted talent.

The Lopes-Henshaw clash is one of the exciting undercard fights supporting the eagerly awaited Johnny Garton v Tyler Goodwin English title clash at Welterweight.
