Dejan Zlaticanin won the World Boxing Council lightweight championship after historically defeating Bolivian Franklin Mamani in three rounds in Verona, New York, and enjoyed an open arms welcome back from his people.
The South American Mamani suffered from the word go. He tried to ride out a torrid punishment from the outset but received clusters of punches up and down and round about. He was not able to do anything about Zlaticanin’s quality.
Zlaticanin, who became the first world champion from Montenegro, arrived back in his country this week where he was joyously received as hometown conquering hero.
