Title action at the Guild Hall as MGM Manchester gears up for another evening of quality boxing.
This Saturday, boxing fans in Preston will get the opportunity to witness a title double-header featuring Liam Conroy and Michael Ramabeletsa, as well as a stacked undercard.
Main event of the evening is Liam Conroy challenging for the vacant WBC Youth Silver Light-Heavyweight title against Hungarian Ferenc Albert. A challenge Johnney Roye feels his fighter is more than ready for due to his attitude and dedication.
“He’s a warrior and will fight anybody. It’s a three hour round trip for him to get to the gym and back but he’s always last to leave. I need to kick him out most of the time. He’s come from a fantastic amateur club who have already instilled these ethics into him” Roye said.
Michael Ramabeletsa is also in title action on Saturday evening as he aims to make another successful defence of his British Challenge belt. Ramabeletsa will defend against Kamil Jaworek of Poland and has an added incentive going into the fight, as Roye explains:
“After this fight on Saturday he then becomes eligible to fight for the British title. He’s been in Britain now for over four years so we’re going to build him up. Central area, English title and then the British is the route we are going to go down.”
Jimmy Kelly returns on the undercard in his first fight since his brave, yet unsuccessful challenge for the WBO Light-Middleweight title against Liam Smith. The card also features some of our top domestic prospects with Nathan Brough, Ashley Peyton, Ryan Moorhead, Reece MacMillan, Jordan Thompson and Jason Sillett all scheduled to appear. The night will also feature the debut of Brandon Daord.
