Nurshahidah Roslie makes history in Singapore

Roslie delighted a sell-out crowd of around 700 fans at the Singapore Futsing Association Commercial Building, when she stopped co-challenger Wondergirl Sithsaithong in the second round, landing a devastating shot to the midsection of the girl from Thailand.

Nicknamed ā€œThe Sniperā€, Roslie appeared very sharp from the first bell, and after setting the pace in round one, where both boxers looked for openings, she upped the tempo in the second and cut off the ring nicely before landing the deciding punch.

Only a pro since February of this year, and Singaporeā€™s first and only female professional boxer, the new UBO Inter-Continental champion improved her undefeated professional record to 3-0 (1). Sithsaithong travels back to Bangkok with a 6-4-1 (2) ledger.

Amazingly, with only three professional fights under her belt, Roslie is now, as the Inter-Continental champion, in line to fight for the vacant UBO World Super Featherweight title in the near future. Becoming a world champion would certainly make her an even bigger star in Singapore.

The fight was the main event of the latest installment of promoter Arvind LalwaniĀ“s Singapore Fighting Championships series. Billed as ā€œSFC3, The Next Chapterā€, the show also featured MMA and K1 fights, as well as additional professional boxing bouts.
