Adam Harper goes back to school on July 23 in Tewksbury

It’s back to school for ‘The Hurricane’, who has recorded four consecutive wins since turning professional in 2014 following a stellar amateur career.

Now, he has stepped up preparations ahead of his homecoming which will take place at Tewksbury School where he was a pupil between 1999-2006 on Saturday, 23rd July.

“It’s a massive honour for me,” he told www.uko-boxing.com. “I’m fortunate enough to have had all my fights in Gloucestershire so far – two at Hatherley Manor and two at GL1 – but this is a dream come true. I’m a Tewksbury lad, so to be able to fight in my hometown is really special.

“The fact it’s at Tewksbury School, where I went as a kid, makes it even more special.”

Victories over foreign opposition in the shape of Edgars Sniedze, Dmitrijs Ovsjannikovs and Baltazaras Bajorunas, Harper stepped up to eight rounds in his last contest; against fellow Gloucester boxer Lewis Van Poetsch.

Victory saw the 28 year-old crowned British Challenge Middleweight Champion and now, as he steps up his camp ahead of his latest outing, expected to be an International Challenge Title, Harper has his sights set on more titles.

“It was a great scrap last time out,” he added. “Van Poetsch came to win and the fans were entertained. It’s been a while since that fight – November – but I’m back training every day now and feeling good. I’m ready to go again and put n a show.

‘There’s A Storm Coming’ also features and Old Hill lightweight, Manny Zaber, and Gloucester lightweight, Andy ‘Thunder’ Harris.
