John Riel Casimero became a two-weight world champion by claiming the IBF flyweight title in a rematch eleven months on from losing to Amnat Ruenroeng via unanimous decision.

This time around, there was no need for judges as Filipino scored a fourth round knockout as guest of honour ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson watched on at the Diamond Court in Beijing, China.

With the victory, the 26 year-old moves to 22-3 having recorded the 14th stoppage of his career and in the process made the first dent in Ruenroeng’s 18-fight C.V.

Ruenroeng, 36, was making the sixth defense of the red belt in a reign stretching back to January 2014 and will no doubt be calling for a rubber match between the two warriors later this year.

On the undercard, minimumweight Jose Jimenez won a split decision triumph over Chao Zhong Xiong following twelve rounds of see-saw action.
