The ECB Hamburg gala on June 4 in Kassel has gained another attraction.
Besides Heavyweight Star Adrian Granat, ex-Tyson Fury opponent Christian Hammer, former world title challenger Karo Murat, local hero Özcan Cetinkaya and super talents Sven Fornling, Nikola Milacic and Fatih Keles, a former world champion in Firat Arslan has the honor of joining them.
The now 45-year-old, who until 2008 held the WBA world title at cruiserweight and later lost controversially on points against Marco Huck and Yoan Pablo Hernandez at world championship level, wants to push towards another crack.
Arslan and promoter Erol Ceylan have a plan for September 17 in a big fight in front of his home crowd in Göppingen against Switzerland-based Albanian Nuri Seferi, but before the big showdown of southpaws, Arslan will shake of the ring rust in his first fight since last November.
The appearance in Kassel will help him prepare for September and then push him on to a possible victory against Seferi.
“Firat has often proved that age is just a number for him,” said ECB boss Erol Ceylan. “He is always in top condition and has with his experience and of course his class, the possibility to mingle at the top. We are very pleased that we can present such a superstar at our event on June 4.”
The opponent will be announced in the coming days.
