Lanell Bellows outlines title target ahead of May 21 return

The 30 year-old knocked out previously undefeated Antowyan Aikens in February to improve his standing in the division and aims to build on his success against an opponent yet to be named this month.

“I was pleased with the Aikens win but never satisfied. It was a stepping stone on the way to my next fight,” Bellows told World Boxing News.

“Every fight is a test. Just like May 21 will be a test and I will be prepared for whoever they put in front of me to get that W.”

On where he hopes to be by the end of this year, Bellows added: “If not already a title holder, in line for a title. I have no specific targets. Just whatever opposition is in the way of a title. They are all great champions and warriors, so I look forward to being up there with them.”

Bellows has the likes of James DeGale, Gilberto Ramirez and stablemate Badou Jack as potentials for a world title clash, but knows any slip-up in a fortnight’s time would put an end to his ultimate dream.
