Lock Stock Promotions have announced Craig Kelly will defend his British Challenge Super Lightweight title on June 11th at Glasgow’s Marriott Hotel against fellow Scotsman Stefan Sanderson.
The fight, scheduled for eight rounds, will support Scott Allan’s clash with Scott McCormack for the Scottish Bantamweight title.
Kelly who was in one of the fights on 2016 last time out, has mixed it with some of the best in Britain; fighting the likes of Denton Vassell and Matthew McAllister. The Paisley native is in confident mood heading into his contest with the relatively unknown quantity that is Sanderson.
“Firstly, I have to take my hat off to Stefan for stepping up and taking the fight. He has shown a lot of bottle taking this fight at this part of his career.”
“I don’t know too much about Stef. I heard he was a good amateur with only one loss and looked a game boy in his last fight; however all I can see on June 11th is an entertaining Craig Kelly victory.
Promoter Willie Limond gave his views on the Kelly vs Sanderson clash on June 11th.
“Craig is never in a bad fight, you always get your money’s worth when Craig is boxing. Stefan is taking a step up in class and that will make for an interesting and entertaining contest.”
“It’s always entertaining when two Scots go to war and we have to all Scottish clashes with Kelly vs Sanderson and Allan vs McCormack so this show will definitely be an unmissable one!”
Top prospects and former amateur standouts Craig Macintyre and Kieran Smith complete the undercard of June 11th’s Dinner show which has options of either a four course meal or buffet.
Ticket prices will be announced shortly.
