Kathy Duva reaffirms Kovalev-Ward has been signed for six months

Two cities are currently in the running, according to Duva, who has kept WBN in the loop following updates in October of 2015 when the fight was first agreed, to January and February of this year as anticipation grew.

“As you know, the Kovalev v Ward fight has been in talks since October but I have been saying that the fight was signed, with signatures from both fighters, since it first happened,” Duva told World Boxing News.

“Our target date has been November 19th as well. We have not yet finalized the site but we are looking at Las Vegas and New York. We will decide soon.

“Of course, both fighters must win any interim bouts in order for the November fight to occur,” she added.

Kovalev is set to defend his belts against stablemate Isaac Chilemba on July 11 in Russia, whilst Ward is currently in the process of setting up a summer outing himself.

‘S.O.G’ returned to top form in ending Sullivan Barrera’s undefeated record earlier this year and will be aiming to build on that before challenging a world star in Kovalev at the back end of 2016.
