Bob Ajisafe has informed WBN that he is set to fight undefeated Umar Salamov for the IBO light heavyweight title on the Deontay Wilder v Alexander Povektin undercard.
The Commonwealth champion, who hasn’t fought since winning the belt in June 2015, is being lined up to face the Russian prospect on May 21 at Khodynka Ice Palace in Moscow.
“The fight is more a less signed. I’m just waiting for the contract but both parties have agreed terms and it should be announced soon,” Ajisafe told World Boxing News.
“I’ll be co-main event in Moscow on the Wilder v Povetkin WBC heavyweight title bill fighting for the IBO light heavyweight title versus Umar Salamov,” he said.
The IBO strap has been vacant since trouble South African Thomas Oosthuizen was stripped for his ongoing problems outside of the ring.

Eastern European stars Rakhim Chakhkiev, Stanislav Kashtanov and Dmitry Kudryashov are all joined by up and comers Dmitry Bivol, Alexey Papin and Dilmurod Satybaldiev on the ten-fight bill topped by Wilder’s fourth defence of the WBC crown.
