Adam Dingsdale signs with Goodwin Boxing
Steve Goodwin is delighted to confirm that he has signed Adam “Dingsy” Dingsdale on a three year contract.
28 year old Dingsdale from Rochester in Kent is the former Southern Area Lightweght Champion and the former WBO European, WBA Continental and English title challenger.
Dingsdale is the latest former Champion to join the Goodwin ranks and ask Steve to mastermind and plan his ongoing career.
Dingsdale first came to prominence in October 2013 when he lost a close decision to Stephen Ormond for the WBO European title. In June 2014 he won his first title when defeating Floyd Moore in a titanic struggle in Portsmouth.
Adam immediately vacated the title in search of greater honours and four months later fought Derry Mathews for the WBA Continental title. Dingsdale put up a valiant performance going down by points. Two further wins and then he challenged for the English title losing a close points decision against Kevin Hooper earlier this year.
Dingsdale has done things the hard way. In each of his four title shots he has been in the away corner and has never had home advantage for a title fight something Goodwin is keen to change.
“Adam is a warrior and has done things the hard way on the road. I intend to be able to provide Adam with the opportunity of winning titles as the home fighter. His previous manager Steffy Bull done a great job for Adam but Steffy is a promoter/manager based in the North of England and it makes it more difficult for him in terms of location. There is no fall out between Adam and Steffy and Steffy actually encouraged Adam to sign with me. I am really looking forward to helping Adam and the new chapter of his career starts on 14th May at York Hall.”
Adam was delighted “I have witnessed first hand what Steve has done for my stable mate Johnny Garton and am really excited to be a part of the Goodwin team”
