The exciting super-bantamweight has flirted with title class at various stages of his career and Coldwell is confident that he can direct his new charge back into boxing’s prized categories beginning with a return to action on the undercard of Anthony Crolla’s world title defence against Ismael Barroso on May 7th at the Manchester Arena.
“Paul is a good fighter with a good attitude and I’m looking forward to getting to work with him,” Enthused Coldwell. “He’s knows the game well and he’s someone who understands the sport and there’s been plenty of times where he has given fans value for money and that’s been on my shows as well. I’m delighted to have him out on May 7th on such a big show and after that we can start looking towards getting him back amongst the big fights that can hopefully bring him some rewards.”
Coldwell added, “Super bantamweight is one of the most exciting divisions in Britain at the moment and if you take away the elite guys near the top then I think there’s some excellent competition and some superb fights to be made. Paul has the desire to get amongst that mix and I’m looking forward to the challenge of helping him get there.”
