King’s Promotions sign featherweight Marcus Bates

Bates of Washington, D.C. has a record of 3-0-1 with three knockouts and will be back in action this May after a two year layoff.

Bates, started boxing at the age of 15, had a fifteen fight amateur career that saw him compete in Golden Gloves tournaments.

“I feel good about signing with King’s Promotions,” said the 21 year-old.

Bates describes himself as a versatile fighter who can adapt to any style.

“I can do everything. I like to box or bang and even counter-punch when necessary.”

“I am looking to get in four fights this year. I have a good personality and I am focusing on boxing and I feel that I can do great things.”

Said King’s Promotions, Marshall Kuffman. “Marcus is a good prospect. I have seen him in action and he has a lot of ability. He is still very young and I look forward to see him develop over the next few years and I think he has a very high ceiling as a fighter.”
